Thank You for Your Great Customer Service!
National Customer Service Week is October 3-7. We want to recognize those employees who continually go 'above and beyond' to provide great customer service to our residents and visitors, especially those employees at our front-line customer service desks. You represent the City well, and your ongoing dedication to serving our community is appreciated. Thank You!

Working with the Transgender Community
The City of Appleton will offer two training sessions for employees on "Working with the Transgender Community." This is optional training for benefited staff, available at:
Because the City of Appleton has a policy which prohibits discrimination against someone who is transgender, it is consistent with City of Appleton’s philosophy that we treat all those we work with, whether they are other employees or members of the public, fairly and with respect.
After this training you will know more about:
- March 16, 1:30-3:00 PM in the City Center Board Room
- March 18, 10:00-11:30 AM in our Lower Level Meeting Room

- Why it’s important to learn about this as a City employee.
- Definitions: what being transgender means along with learning about those who don’t
- fit into stereotypical gender roles.
- What it means when someone transitions.
- Understanding what your response as a co-worker or representative of the City means.
- Refreshing yourself with the Non-Discrimination Policy.
