As the College Avenue Bridge reopening nears, we anticipate questions and concerns about the new two-lane roundabout at the intersection of College Avenue, Walter Avenue and John Street. We understand that this type of intersection may be intimidating to some drivers at first, and we'd like to offer information and a few helpful hints for driving this route safely and confidently.
Keep in mind, nobody feels comfortable doing something new for the first time, especially when it comes to transportation. However, a little preparation may help.
A brochure that outlines the basics of driving through this new roundabout has been distributed. Additional copies are available at the Department of Public Works in City Hall or the Municipal Service Building. Included is a diagram explaining how traffic flows through this type of intersection.
